What To Watch On Netflix This October

If you’re like me, then you’re always on the look out for new teen drama shows and cosy movies to watch. Naturally, October is a month packed with spooky and fantasy releases across all channels. Here are my top 5 picks from Netflix for the month!

New Releases

Fate: The Winx Saga S2

what to watch on netflix: the winx saga

Fairies attend a magical boarding school in the Otherworld, where they must learn to master their magical powers while navigating love, rivalries and the monsters that threaten their very existence.

This fantasy series is a great one if you’re into magical teen dramas, similar to The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. It’s got a gripping story, cool magical elements and interesting characters. Season 2 of the show has just been released so it’s the perfect time to start watching!

Derry Girls S3

In Derry, Northern Ireland, a young girl and her cousin embark on many exciting adventures after they attend a Catholic girls’ school in the midst of a national conflict.

Set during the conflict in Northern Ireland, making light of tough situations with hilarious characters and insane plots, this show is a must-watch. This cheeky comedy completely took me by surprise when I first saw it. And I can’t wait to get into season 3 when it arrives on Netflix on October 7th.

The School For Good And Evil

new release on netflix october: the school for good and evil

“Best friends Sophie and Agatha find themselves on opposing sides of an epic battle when they’re swept away into an enchanted school where aspiring heroes and villains are trained to protect the balance between Good and Evil.”

The School For Good And Evil is a fantasy film coming out on the 19th of October. It’s based on the book by Soman Chainani, which has rave reviews on amazon and goodreads. So if the adaptions is done well, the movie should be just as enticing and magical!

Looking for a brand new halloween movie? Look no further. The Curse Of Bridge Hollow will be a charming spooky season adventure film for all the family. Out on the 14th of October.

Look out for

Wednesday

what to watch on netflix this october: wednesday addams coming soon

Follows Wednesday Addams’ years as a student, when she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart and solve the mystery that embroiled her parents.

Netflix, amongst other streaming services, seem to be obsessed with bringing back old shows and movies in a new form for a new generation, and this time it’s with the Addams’ Family. There is no set date yet but would it be too optimistic to assume a Halloween day release for this one? We can only hope…
