That Woman

Lips stained red
Leaving their mark
On champagne flutes

Mysterious eyes
Capturing hearts
On summer yachts

Confidence emboldened
By a designer bag
And a fabulous hat

Oh, to be that woman

ABOUT THIS POEM

This was a quickie, just a little something to get the creative juices flowing.

Big thanks to Marsha at Always Write for spoonfeeding me prompts. The lovely painting “Lady in Yellow” by Smitha Vishwanath was the perfect inspiration.

IN OTHER NEWS

Speaking of Marsha, I’d like to share some exciting news. She has meticulously compiled short stories and poems from writers sharing on her blog over the past year and has published a book.

This is an exciting development in my writing endeavours because my short story is in there!

When I commented in response to one of Marsha’s blog posts a few months ago, I didn’t realise the contribution would be considered for inclusion in an international anthology. But it’s so cool that it was.

If you’re a keen reader or just looking for something new to casually browse, why not check out Story Chat Digest: Where Stories Meet?

Hopefully this is the first but not the last of my work being published.

Until Next Time,
Miriam
